Here's why online lessons are the BEST way to
learn Piano and Guitar for Adults and Children
You may be hesitant about starting lessons online, or wondering if this style of Piano or Guitar lessons can work for you or you child.
Thanks to today's technology I can offer lessons that have :
Pop music? Classical music? Musical Theatre? Disco? Metal? Folk? Blues? I can help you learn the music that you want to play. No request is wrong, or too strange.
Early morning? Relaxed Afternoon? Just after school? Evening after work? We can find a time that works for us!
I can also offer a change in your lesson times and days too, so when life changes, you don't have to stop learning.
Changes happen, thing's can go wrong, or sometimes life just gets in the way!
Last minute changes are no problem. Message me and I'll be happy to reschedule to find a new time in the week that will suit you, at no extra cost.
With online lessons you simply need to log in.
No driving there and back. No additional time spent commuting, not to mention fuel costs.
Enjoy the comfort of your own home, and never miss another adventure.
Students can contact me from any country and some of my students in their homes even wear pyjamas in lessons!
Record your lessons so you don't have to remember every little detail, and receive personalised video tutorials made by me, just for you!
In Piano Lessons
A Foot Pedal Camera Sheet music camera, which will help you with writing notes and reading
Close views in lessons of the guitars bridge and the frets, so you can see everything
I also make video tutorials and playthroughs for my students. Here's an example below:
A Top-down camera that shows the the whole keyboard,
And personalised diagrams to help you practice.
Starting online is simple. You probably already have everything you need, and you’re reading this website using it! You will need a device capable of video calls, such as a computer, laptop, or smartphone with a camera
All you have to do is make sure that I can see you, and your instrument so I can make sure you are using correct fingering and posture. Here's some picture examples:
For Piano Lessons, I just need to see your face, your posture and your keyboard.
For Guitar Lessons, I need to see your posture, your instrument including both the fretboard and body, and both hands. The being able to see your face is preferred but I can work with views like the image on the right.
If you have trouble getting these camera angles, I'm happy to work with whatever you are able to provide, and we can work on improving the situation in our lesson.
I don’t need to see the copy of your sheet music, as I will have my own.
In terms of the sound quality those same devices work too.
You don’t need any expensive microphones, or complicated audio hardware.
All that is required is that you enable ‘Original Sound’ on zoom. I have a How-To Guide on doing, and if you have any trouble, I will be happy to guide you through the process in our lesson. (How To Turn On Original Sound in Zoom)
You will need a stable internet connection and upload speed, but I find technical issues are rare. If you can make a Zoom or Facetime call using your current connection then that is all that is necessary.
You certainly don’t need all the lights, microphones, computers, switches, leads, stands and other gizmos I have!
